Default Quick install question side marker light issue.

So I was just installing my Bushwacker flat flares but for some reason my side marker lights wont work.

I did the fender chop a while ago so I haven't had the side markers wired up for a while now, but they were working fine before I did the chop.

I don't think I did anything wrong, cut the clip going to the old side markers, and added connectors to the wires and plugged them both in but nothing.

Suggestions?

I can't finish the install until I get the lights working.

Have you tried reversing the wires?

I have reversed the wires.
I have checked both of the new lights on both sides.
I have tried one at a time.
I have tried both at once.
I have tried turn signals and hazards with the lights on and off and in park and drive.

I have tried any possible scenario that I could think of. The only thing that I didnt do was check if the old ones worked, but it is too late for that now that the wires are cut off completely.

Does anyone know what else to check? Is there a fuse? The actual front turn signals work, it is just the side markers that are not working.

Thanks

Wip out a meter or test light and check for power. You can try all you want but untill you know if you have power all your efforts are waisted.

I have a standard radio shack multi meter but I need to leads how to use it first. Does anyone know what settings to put it on? I hooked up a house outlet tester to it to see if it would work, but the light would not come on.

If the problem is the power and both side markers are not working, does anyone know where to look first for power?

put the meter on DC volts and stick the red lead onto the white and green wire. Put the black lead to a ground, you should get 12 VDC

I'm talking about the wires at the marker light plug.

Both sides read 13.89 v
Does this mean both of the side marker lights that bushwacker sent are bad?

Can you look at the bulbs they sent you and see if they are bad. I don't have those kinds of bulbs so I can't see what you see. I was just informing on how to test for power on the Jeep side. If you are getting voltage the issue "may be the bulbs. Don't know for sure. If you still have the stock marker light that worked just plug one of those in and see if it works. If it does work then maybe the new one's are the issue.

I just tested the old lights and they worked. It turns out that Bushwacker sent two bad lights with the flat fenders. I am sure that this is not a common problem, but if anyone else installs these fenders you should definately test the new lights before you put the fenders on because you only get one shot with the double sided tape.

Now I just hope that they can over night me some lights because I cant drive until they get here.

Thanks for all of the help!
