Default Raditor Replacement

Anyone replaced their radiator yet, anything unusual I should look for when changing it out?

Also the cost for a new one seem high at $320.

Thanks

That seems high to me, too. Is that a dealer price?

Be sure to get the right coolant for refilling.

What happened to require the replacement? Only folks replacing them that I've heard much about are the ones with bad coolant-sludging problems.

The price is from several searches on the net, all about the same price. Replacing it because the upper seem is is leaking.

Mine had a pinhole leak when I bought it. New radiator cost me about $120 from napa. I'm not a fan of napa but closest thing around that had one in stock. This was last year but shouldn't be that much more lol.

Definitely not a fan of napa.. but it is getting close to wanting to do something about our hoses.. and prob while we're at it.. might replace the thermostat.. Think it's a good idea just to do a bit more than just replacing the radiator.. and you've had the jeep how long?.. prob due for the belts and hoses..

Yep. Took my 09 in for my 5yr lifetime inspection. I knew I had a pinhole leak. They wouldn't sign off on continuing the warantee unless I replaced the radiator. Quoted me $500. I found a new one on line out of florida for $75 and free shipping. It was an exact match for the OEM. It took me about 2 hours to change it out myself. took JK back to the dealer and they signed off. I wish I could have installed an all aluminum radiator, but I couldnt find one at a reasonable price. It has been 6 months and no problems.

May I recommend taking the grill off to do the radiator. I didn't and those screws are a pain to get to if you don't. Lol. I did all hoses, and thermostat while I was there.
