Rancho 9000XL
Anyone have comments on the rancho shocks on a stock wrangler? I'd like to have a better ride on the street and highway with the ability to adjust them as needed if offroading. I would think a softer shock setting on the highway would be less steering shakes when hitting bumps.

I have them.. They are adjustable as advertised.. I think I'll invest in the controller down the road, cause turning the knobs is kind of a pain sometimes cause they get hard to turn. Also.. The rear knob is in a vulnerable spot, so I'd recommend mounting them upside down, or facing fwd so u don't break a knob as I did

These were the first to replace my stock shocks. I've had procomps, ranchos, and rough country on previous jeeps (xj and ZJ) so I already knew how they performed.. That's why I chose them over the others. Rough country was a softer ride but performed well all around. My procomps felt a little stiff on my xj. Driving over train tracks felt like I was on DUBS even aired down.

I run the rancho 9000xl for 2 years now. I do like them, you can adjust them to be comparable to the stock springs. However, I did a 4 in lift and larger tires at the same time, so the ride changed.

Yeah they have a shoctober sale now. Eventually ill get the aev 3.5 lift but until then I was just wanting a little smoother ride for going on trips. This is the vehicle we use for vacations. I've read a lot of positives about them and I did have them on a z71... The jeep is not a z71 so that's the reason I'm asking if it really makes a difference on the roads.
