Default Rancho Rear Bumper - More Opinions Please

Hello, I am looking at getting the Rancho Rear Bumper/Tire Carrier. I can have it shipped to my door for $400. Obviously this bumper is going to be lacking some of the things that come with a $1,000+ rear carrier/bumper combo but I am looking for some opinions on it.

Here are a couple of pictures of the bumper actually mounted on a JK (not a marketing photo).

thanks

Not a bad looking bumper for the price. I just think its a little plain. But who really care what I or for that matter what anyone thinks about it. If you like it get it and enjoy it!!!

That's the rear I'm looking at also, for the price I think it's good. If I do go with it I'll probably get some corner guards though, along with painting or bedlining the pinch seam so it doesn't stand out.

I don't care for it. It looks as much a part of the Jeep as the wood half doors.

I agree.
Looks like an unfinished rear bumper to me.

Thank you for the responses. I also feel that it is a little bit unfinished but I went ahead and ordered it, should be here in a few days. I am going to try to fab up some corner guards. I will post some pictures when completed.

thanks!

Well you like it thats all that matters.

I have to agree with the others, it looks incomplete and those
wooden doors really look horrid. BUT I will give whoevers Jeep
that is an A+ for creativity....

Make sure to post pics for us when you have the bumper on,
if you can figure out something for the corners it will look
MUCH Better but unless you have some serious welding skills yourself
(I imagine if you did you would have just made your own) I fear it
won't be cheap to fab up something that will not just fall off and by
the time you get that done you could have gotten a really nice rear...

Sometimes its better to wait and save till you can get what you really want
instead of just buying something you can afford

To me it looks like a super heavy duty tire carrier. Looks is just a matter of preference so I won’t even touch one that subject. The only question I would have is what type of off-road driving you are planning on doing. If you plan on doing what I call hard core off-road driving I would question if you will have the protection you desire. In the end only you can judge your needs.
Have a great holiday, GRIZZ

I hate the front Rancho bumper but the rear is simple and functional. Especially nice that you can attach a Hi-Lift jack to it as well.

I bought one from 4wheelhareware when they were offering 10% discount. I like mine because it was priced reasonable and has mount for jack. I would caution on the install -I had to grind the bolt heads on your factory hitch- in order to get the bumper to "seat' properly and allow the holes on the side to line up. The instructions say there is a 100lb limit but my Grappler/ 16x10 combo is 125lbs? So far so good.
