Rancho RS 9000XL shocks?
4wheelparts.com/PDT270741.aspx
For: 2007 Jeep WRANGLER (07JK) RUBICON
Part Number: RS9000XSSD
Complete set of 4; RS9000X Shock Absorber; Tri-tube, mono-flow design ensures exceptional performance under a full range of load and teperature conditions; Cellular gas design; 9-position adjustment for desired performance; Designed for off-road, street or anything in between; Graphite-impregnated Teflon band for smooth reliable performance; Double-welded loops with red urethane bushings; 5/8 inch Hardened Rod double-chromed for long wear;
I'm confused about these shocks. I read to select a montube shock like the Rubicon Expresses monotubes, Bilstein monotubes, or Edelbrock...etc...to help with damoening and heat dispersion v.s. a twin tube shock. Whats the deal with these shocks: It says tri-tube yet mono flow...WTF does that mean? I know they are adjustable. How would they compare to say MX6's or RE montubes?
thank you for the feedback.

I got nothing on your question, but speaking from 3 vehicles of experience (1 mine, 2 buddies) those shocks SUCK!!! All of ours are stuck at thier current setting and have faded a ton over the last 3 years we have had them. Rancho had a big sale and we all bought them. Stick with Bilsteins.
The Rancho XL is huge and does have 40% more oil, etc, however, it is "per application". I spoke with a rancho rep and looked at an XL, hands on....
He said, "That shock is for a larger truck, like a Ford F350. A XL shock for a Jeep is much smaller. Even the rod diameter and piston are smaller than the one you are holding." I think the rod for a Jeep was 5/8'th and the full size is 7/8'th, etc.
He didn't know the percentage of increased oil capacity for a jeep application but it souded something more like 10% to 20%, if any.
I have yet to see a XL for a Jeep but the one for the full size truck was enormous!
