do you have the prosteer ball joints? if not, then i would not worry about the issue. i gusseted mine after nearly 3 years of offroading, so who knows if mine were bent, but i do have the rcv's installed. along with new stock ball joints. if u would like, i will measure what my clearance is, i dont seem to have any issues.

i think it was dave mentioned. you would not want to cut into the boot for the rcv, that would compromise it. the boot holds all the grease in and on extreme turns, the edge of the boot comes close to the edge of the inside of the metal
I have the prosteers. Im just trying to figure out a way to determine if I will have the clearance. Some folks are grinding a little bit of the ball joints, some may not be able to fit even with grinding. Does anyone have the width of the RCV boot at its thickest point, vs the stock rubi u joint?

Check the clearance between the Rubi u-joint and the RCV boot. If you're anything like the other guys that I've talked to, your measurments will be unequal, side to side.

Does anyone have these measurements? My rubi u joint is pretty close as it is right now.

They are about the same, The distance between the U joint is about 4-5mm between the u joint and the balljoint.

Oh heck, did I need to grind something when I installed these shafts? O_O
Is it the inner arc of the C that is touching the shaft boot that you guys are talking about shaving?

The only possible grinding is if you have prosteer balljoints.

My rubi ujoint has about 2-3 mm of clearance from the prosteer ball joint. Does anyone know how much wider the rcv ball is than the rubi u joint.
