Default Re-Gearing info

So after my previous thread I think the first thing I've decided to do is get re-geared-- I am running 35's right now and have found 5.13 re-gear could be my best bet---
is there anything I should know or any advice anyone has about re-gearing before I make the jump?
Thanks

Since you will be dissambling that area are you planning to add some aftermarket lockers? If so maybe you could do it all at once. Other then that just take it easy the first 500-1k miles, change your diff fluid after the first 500 miles and no towing until after break-in...

5:13 is to steep for 35's. 4:56 or 4:88 is all that is needed. I've got 37's and 5:13's and it is a great combination.

If you have an Auto 4 dr 5:13's is a good set up(its what i have) ...... If its a 2 dr or standard I'd go 4.88's

That may be the case for the 2012s, but for the '07-'11s with auto trans 5.13s would be the way to go....I speak from personal experience on my previous '08 JKU automatic rolling on 35s. The weight of the JKU, the nature of the 4 speed trans, aftermarket bumper, weight/rolling mass of the 35s and the brick body design of the jeep to me, at the least made driving the jeep bearable with the 5.13 gearing...

Agreed. I was speaking from the 2012+ viewpoint.

I currently have 5:13's and I Kind of regret not going 5:38's but I also tow a camp trailer. If you planing doing any towing think about the 5:38's. Just my 2cents.
