I would recomend putting a lift on if you plan on any sort of off road travel. 33's arent much bigger than what you probably have. you will also want to take your wheel into consideration. Are you jus putting your new tires on your current wheels or buying new? This is a constant thing going through my head currently as well because i am on the verge of buying new tires and wheels. As most beginners find out eventually buying new wheels and tires goes beyond just "I want some big @ss tires on my jeep." You need to consider what youre using it for, wheel weight, back spacing, tread type, bolt pattern, future mods that may affect their performance, and a bunch more. In my option buying tires and rims is one of the mind straining issues when upgrading a vehicle.

I am pretty poor so I had to go with the 2" superlift w/shocks for now. but I am really looking hard at the OME kit. My tires are 33.4" i think. Thought you might want to see how a 2" bb w/33s looks. I have a little rake in the front I want to get rid of.

I like your jeep set up there. What made you go with the Blingy wheels instead of black or grey?

He is running street tires. I assume no offroading or maybe some light offroading. No need for steel wheels if you like chrome.

I like chrome wheels too.

I bought new tires and wheels before my lift came. We got our jeep in 06 and nobody had the lifts in stock yet. The wheels and tires were just sitting there so I put them on and used them probably a good month or more before the lift went on. So, toyo mt's on aftermarket wheels work just fine for on-road driving. I went and played in the hills a little and got some minor rubbing when it was flexed out. If you do a lot of offroading where it flexes, or you aren't getting new wheels then you will need to do the lift when you do the tires.

Also notice nobody answered that part of the question. The OME lift is the one I am considering right now, but finding out what people mean by "better than stock" is kind of tricky. Also, sometimes it' hard to tell if they went with the light/medium springs or the HD springs.

thanks nick! Actually my g/f is why I got the wheels. she saw them and fell in love. I told her we could run them until I destroy them on rocks and then back to plain ole steelies. She was so supportive of me buying this thing I couldnt tell her no. It is my DD so I am not going to offroad it too hard, at least for a while.

This is my first set of all terrains, and I don't mud so maybe they will work. I am more into trails and little rocks. I love the trails at the superlift ORV. I wont go on anything more than a 3 with it (I did 4s in my DD TJ). I kind of wish I would have gone more lift and 37s so I bet you will see MT's in my future.

I want the softest ride possible, and Ive had good luck with skyjacker. I am scared to go OME cause it might ride like a sportscar or something. anybody know what the softest ride is? If anyone knows how I can get my "better than stock" let me know!

Default OME beter than stock

I went with the HD kit from Northridge 4x4. In my opinion it rides softer than stock. I guess it's a matter of opinion what you feel is better than stock. I prefer the softer ride.

Maybe because I have a bad back, but the softer the ride the better. If I could find a setup that rode as squishy and soft as a 1976 Cadillac Sedan Deville then that would be the suspension I roll. I don't care if I lost a little off road ability or whatever getting it. That is my dream. A jeep with a Cadi ride.
