In most states it is not "illegal" to run them, they simply arent DOT approved, i.e. there manufacturing quality is not regulated by federal regulation. This becomes an issue in several ways, is some places it actually is illegal and you will need to check your local laws for that. Other ways it can affect you would be if you were to get into an accident, because you are running a piece of equipment on a public road that is not DOT approved you can be held liable for the accident even if it was not your fault, at the least your insurance company can refuse to cover your expenses for the same reason. Just check your local laws first and make sure you do some research and buy a quality beadlock if you choose to go that route.

The bead locks you are looking at are quality bead locks. Make sure you just check the bolts from time to time. I don't think anyone would hassel us about them being there are so many Faux bead locks around. TPMS will go off anyways if there is a leak.

To doate I have heard they are not street legal, but I have yet to find any specific laws banning a beadlock or multi piece wheel. The main thing you may run into is if you live in a state with inspections if you run a wheel that is not DOT approved.

I wouldnt think you would have a problem, as someone before me said there are so many fake ones out there that i doubt cops care about them anymore

Or you could compromise and get DOT approved bead locks, like the AEV ones. They are the only DOT approved ones that I'm aware of.

Good luck running across a "pig" that actually knows what a beadlock is and actually knows the laws on them......

The odds are in your favor that any of the regulating parties will never notice your beadlocks.

If you look at indiana law, fog lights are illegal - everybody runs them but our law states headlights + 1 additional light.........jackass lawmakers! But seriously, the pigs don't read that, they just do what they want and reaally don't care about laws, just collecting $$$$ - remember buckle your safety belt, cause that's the important shit!

I have run the Walker Evans Bead Locks for almost 2 years now. I ran into the same dilema when purchasing, and decided to go for it. My wife has been in a accident where she was run into and the cops did not say anything, certain cops may care where others might not. I am going in for my inspections in February and I am a little nervous to see what happens. It is a few months out but I will make sure to post my experiance.

this may be a dumb question, but can you drive around on the wheels without having the beadlock ring mounted?
