Default Rear JKU suspension load

Does anyone know what the JK's rear suspension can handle as far as weight?

If your load is resting furthest rear of the JKU what the max weight would be...

Hard to know without weighing the vehicle. With scales its a piece of cake: Compare the weighed weight of the loaded rear axle to the rating on the door post.

If scales aren't an option, look at the load capacity of the vehicle (door post again). If capacity is, say, 800 pounds and you know your load won't affect the front axle much, then reduce the capacity to maybe 500 pounds.

Remember that loading up the rear unloads the front which can make the steering weird at best and dangerous at worst.

Thanks for that - the affected steering did not even occur to me.

Appreciate the reply!
