Default Rear soft-top windowZIPPER!

Well my '08's zipper is finally frigged. I was having trouble with it last summer. This spring it's shot. I can't get the teeth to bite together at all.
Has anyone come up with some ingenious way of closing it? Without purchasing a new top or new zippers? I'm currently using zipties in holes I made in the zipper at each corner. It's a pain. Any ideas!? Pics would be awesome.

I'm wondering the same thing. Somehow I got the soft top zipper track misaligned with the window zipper track and couldn't get the rear window off. I had to end up ripping the zipper off with some lineman's pliers. This snapped the end off the silver end of the zipper track on the window and now the zippers just slide on/fall off. Damn Jeep is only 3 months old I said zipper a lot.

Biggest design flaw IMO. A snap system would last longer. I'm just hoping someone has had some good ideas. I really don't want to resort to duct tape!

This may be what your looking for.... I posted this awhile ago

Can i show you my modified zipper-less rear window? - Jeep Wrangler Forum

Its not the prettiest, but it works so well. Since I have posted these pics, I have added 2 more clips in each upper corner. Even after awhile the Velcro still has some bite...

I misaligned mine and couldn't find where the offset was so I cut it. After trying to repair it I finally broke down and ordered a new window only- $189 is a lot but I don't have time to go to a sew shop and wait for them to figure it out. If it lasts 4 years like the last one, I think it'll be worth it.

I may try the Velcro route. Any reason why it couldn't work all the way around? Not just the sides. Hmmm

I regularly rub my zippers with paraffin. It keeps my zippers well lubricated, making their operation smooth and fast. First get the zippers clean, and then rub a 100% pure paraffin candle evenly on them. Even after four years of constant zipping, they all work like brand new. It's a very inexpensive solution that takes very little time.

My side window zipper just tore at silver thing yesterday so I ordered a new set of windows. I had to rip off the window so hopefully I didn't mess up the zipper on the soft top otherwise that will have to be replaced also. It will also be nice to have windows that aren't all scratched and messed up. Hopefully the Bestop windows fit perfectly with my stock soft top like Quadratec said.

I have Velcro going all along the entire window. The corners don't really reach high enough to make good contact but the top and sides do. Eventualy when the Velcro started loosing some of its bite I needed more support since the back window started falling down on me.

I know it looks whacky, but my binder clips are so practical and I absolutely love them
