Not sure exactly what it is called but has anyone replaced the cover over the recessed storage area inthe back?

The only company that I know of that makes a lid like this is Tuffy:

I installed one 2 weeks ago along with the tuffy console. I got the tuffy rear cover for $119 shipped. Its a pretty nice piece. The instruction weren't great but I figured it out.

My only delema with the tuffy security drawer is what if i take out my back seat to haul more gear camping? I'd have to reach over the drawer which would be a pain in the ass. Otherwise, it seems like a great product. Anyone have any issues with this? Is it as hard as I'm thinking it would be?

The drawer and cubby/jack compartment lid are different items.

Default Have it and love it

the tuffy lid is great. I had zero problems installing, and I am a girl . The instructions do suck, but I got it installed in about a half an hour. Kept everything very dry in a downpour that I was caught in . Locks nice and is extremely durable. I have had LOTS of crap on top even a full size keg and it was super tough, no scratches and solid, no dents.

Good luck, oh and I got in on a deqal with free shipping, I really reccomend it.

Take a look at this thread: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...ght=slick+tape

Myself and others have had problems with the covers scratching and/or denting the tailgate. Tuffy ships these with some black tape ("slick tape") applied on the corner. Unless you want a scratched tail gate leave the tape on. You may still get a small dent though.

Other than the scratch/dent issue, which is frustrating, I've been happy with the build of the cover. It is fairly strong and locks tight.
