Default Rear tow hook.

I bought this rear tow hook for my 07 JK that has three holes in it. When I was trying to install it on the rear frame, it looks off a little bit to the side. Is it not supposed to be in the center of the rear bumper where that little notch is at or is it fine?
And to install it do I need to take the rear bumper off or can I just put it from below? Thanks.

^poor kittens....^

and no, you don't have to remove the bumper. i removed my factory tow hook and put a hitch on. took maybe 10 minutes and most of that was spent trying to find the socket

The '09s have them mounted o the drivers side frame rail. I believe both
'07s and '08s had them mounted in the center where the hitch would be mounted. If you bought the Mopar accessory then it would be the earlier center mounted version

this is it exactly. the center of the curve of the hook should just about line up with the little indent on the bumper. u would want to use the right 3 of the 4 holes on the crossbar. the mounting portion looks off-centered but the hook itself should just about be centered

you can just buy an 09 tow hook and mount it on the left side of your 07. That way you can install a hitch if you ever need one. I think it looks much better on the side as well.
