Default Regear?

Beating a horse to death I'm sure, but is regearing based on the measurement of the tire from the manufacturer or ride height? I'm assuming its ride height, just want to make sure.

measure the tire under load using a tape measure. Also the ratio your regear too depends on whether you have a stick or an auto.

yeah, I've been studying the auto chart. Going to 285/16, maybe 295/16, trying to decide between the 4.56 and 4.88. Thanks

looks like you have an auto, do you ever plan to go to 35's?? I would think about that, and maybe just do 5.13s. Dont wanna pay for labor again in the future. I just did 5.13s on my auto, and its perfect with my 35s. good luck.

Really really want 35s but I pull a pop up during the summer for camping, and I already struggle with these AZ mountains, that's why I'm trying to decide between 285-295 and which gears to go with, I may end up 4.88, I think 5.13 might be too much.

definately, I just wonder what my rpms are going to do. Going up some of the long steep stretches of highway I hang around 4000-5000 rpms at around 60mph, just screaming at me. Do you think the rpms will be lower?

Thats while in tow, I've got 4.10 right now running 265/16s. I also take overdrive off, from what I've read when towing overdrive shouldn't be on. My pop up weighs about 3500 too, right at the max towing capacity.
