Since I'm getting 35" tires, what do I do about re-gearing? Is it recommended? What brands, type, etc... I never messed with gears and have no general knowledge on them

if you've got a rubicon, the 4.10 gears are tollerable with 35's. new gears would sure help restore your power and if you went up to 5.13's, you'd even see a nice boost in power. i would recommend it if you can afford it. as far as make goes, they are all made by the same company - just packaged up in different boxes.

I agree with this point. But as you newb you really do benefit from using the reading the FAQ and SEARCH button. If nothing else you learn that there are many contradicting points of view and you learn how to filter the information to make the right decision based on your own criteria.

As opposed to just asking totally open questions like "What is the best ...." and getting responses that start with " I couldn't be happier ...."

How in the heck else are you to become a "jk jedi"? Besides if some of these questions weren't redundent we'd all be bored to tears for lack of something happening on this forum. Seems EVERYTHING has been covered, no? AllI know is it will take me a life time to get to 1000 posts. I"ll never make Jedi
