Default Reinforcing rear trackbar bracket?

Can I just go weld some more metal on the bracket/axle? What is the recommended process; do I need to deal with any type of axle dis-assembly?

Also, I assume the axle carrier is mild steel. Correct?

Just don't use those extender brackets and you shouldn't need to reinforce anything. However, I guess you could just beef it up by welding on some more metal.

You should be able to weld to the axle tubes fairly easily. The differential housing is cast iron and does not easily weld.

Don't believe that. The extender brackets are a bad idea but that doesn't mean that the stock bracket is ok. If you have the chance, reinforce it.

We haven't seen it on JK's yet because they are so new, but I saw it numerous times on TJ's. Track bar brackets are not designed for the twisting and stress when Jeeps flex.

Im going to use 1/4" trianglular gussets on each side of the stock bracket to reinforce it. just grind all the areas to be welded too first and use a good mig or tig machine.

Do you know how thick the axle carrier tubes are?
