OK I just got mine off.

Here's the deal. They were on there VERY tight. There was no way in hell these were coming off just by pulling on the mirror. I DO NOT suggest threading the bolt in and hitting the bolt. I popped some threads out of mine doing that.

I ended up having to get a long thin punch. I put that up into the bolt hole. It was long enough that it went all the way to the end of the hole. It was thin enough that it did not touch the threads. Then I had to beat on the punch with a ball-peen. I mean I had to hit them at least 20 times VERY VERY hard.

Maybe it's a 2008 thing for them to be pressed in so hard.

OK I don't know if the 2008 mirrors are different, or rugged ridge redesigned their bracket.

I've heard many people complain the mirror is too big and won't sit all the down in the rugged ridge bracket. Not only will my 2008 mirror sit all the down in the rugged ridge bracket, but it's actually loose in it.

The diameter of the mirror shaft at the top (it's tapered) is 1.085". The interior diameter of the rugged ridge bracket where the mirror goes in is 1.165".

yeah hitting the bolt very hard and spraying some wd40 worked for me. Also the rr brackets are not perfect but I added some washers to get the mirrors to take the bolt.

the original design just needs longer bolts, not sure what seems to be a new design. the originals just need 8mm x 50mm once you g et the mirror off the stock bracket

Mine come out with one up ward wack with my hand, ok sometimes 2 wacks lol
