Default Removing a bad bed liner

So I bought my JK used and it was already lined. After using it for a year I've noticed that it's starting to come off is some places and thin in some spots that the yellow shows through. Now I've rolled on bed liner in the tub of my TJ and it came out pretty well and have no problem doing it again in my JK. Now the real question I have is what should i do about the current liner, just clean it really well and roll over it or remove it then replace? And if removing the old one how should I go about doing so?

I don't have much information for your specific situation, but a buddy of mine stripped the bed of his truck a while ago. Putty knife/chisel and elbow grease. He DID open himself up good when he slipped, though.

I would remove all of it, if the original bedliner is not holding up you are likely to have the same problem putting a new coat on top.

Is the original liner peeling? Or just showing signs if age with thin spots and sun damage? If there is no peeling or signs of rust or any other problems you would actually be okay going right over it. But, if there is peeling it is defiantly better in the long run to strip it down.
