Removing shift-knob
Per my mechanic's instructions, I was able to remove my shift knob by giving it a really, really hard pull with my fingers wrapped on the bottom of it. I replaced the rubber corrugated boot, which snaps right in, and then pushed the knob back on the shaft after alligning it so the shift pattern graphic was oriented correctly. The whole thing, including removing and replacing the rubber boot, took less than five minutes.
