Thumbs up Replacement Horns

My last Jeep, a 95 YJ had the most anemic horn I'd ever heard, until I mashed the button on this JK. On my YJ I used two sets of Honda Accord horns,(2 hi and 2 low 1998-2002 model years.) This setup gave a perfect ''JEEPJEEP'' sound and very loud also. the stock wiring and relay carried this conversion with no problems. I will save the extra horns off of the next two short -cut front ends I use in my job and will post to you all wether they work alright on the JK....

They were okay, then I put a fire engine horn on! That's when the fun really started!

Ok, I don't abuse it but it is nice to know that I have a horn you can actually hear after muddin, that's why I fabbed a bracket out of aluminum, so I could mount it up high in the engine compartment. Guy on here has an awesome write-up, sorry don't know how to post links yet, but go search fire engine horn and you should find it.

MK here in VA the type of horn affects your ability to get your vehicle inspected. Also the overuse or unnessary use of your horn can throw you into the category of ''agressive driving'' with some quite severe civil penalties.... (read $$$$$). Thanks for the info! Also radar detectors are illegal , they cannot be posessed legally, if stopped the trooper can take it from you on the spot with NO due process. Sounds worse than it is, you can have all the guns you want displayed on the dashboard, but by God you'd better not have a detector in there ,boy...

Shoot! You need to move down to good ole Loouisiana! Troopers here will buy you a beer and ask for a hook up on a airhorn for their jeep!

Just for your info I've never failed an inspection, it amounts to paying $10 bucks and slapping a sticker on whatever you drove, rolled, or pushed in. Gotta luv the south!
