How cool is that. I remember showing my wife that video years ago.

Default not sure but

my tires are e rated . that could have impact on wear or not i thought that was for side wall mine are also 10 ply i think . Maybe this could be a factor on lifespand of the tire perhaps but mine look pretty dam good at 40,000

ill replace them before 100,000 miles im sure but ill have to see lol maybe not Not in a rush to go buy new if i dont have to. Guess i could toss the factory ones on if i had too ( i saved them)
for that reason.

Buy 3? Well then what are you going to do for a spare? I'd buy 4 and start rotating your spare in and you will get an extra 20% out of your tires.

Check out the DOT date stamp on the tire, and see when it was made. If it is more than about 5 years old, you might be better off just keeping it as an emergency spare. Date stamp looks is 4 numbers inside an oval, the first 2 tell you what week of the year it was made, the second tell you what year. For example: the one shown in this picture was made in the second week of 2013.

Though the TIN (tire identification number) is slightly different, it still contains the same info, you just refer to the last 4 numbers of the TIN: 4710. This tire was produced in the 47th week of 2010. The spare was produced in the 46th week of 2010.

I still dislike tirerack.com, and highly advise purchasing tires from other sources, but this was the best info source I could find.
