Replacing carpet with rubber floor liners?
#11
In my experience bed lining the floors is really no different than just taking the carpet out, other than looks. I would like to get a set of bedtread as well. Then, when the interior is covered in mud you could simply take out the rubber flooring and most of the mess would be done. Whatever is left behind you could then power wash. It's always a huge pain in the ass power washing the interior out of my jeep.

I Line-Xed the tub of my '07 and loved it at first, but once winter set in and I put my top back on the smell drove me insane. I had splitting headaches all winter from it. I made it through the next summer only to have the headaches return in winter. I sold the Jeep and started over because you can't unLine-X it.
I've never heard anyone else complain about it. Just my experience.

I've run carpetless, the floor is darn hot in the summer.
My alternative : With two slices, the 1-peice 4-door carpet can be cut into 3 re-installable pieces. My JK has been wet a number of times, I made a knife cut just in front of the front seats, and they pull out.
When dripping wet, I leave the 3 pieces to bake in the sun for a day, and re-install. I have the Tuffy underseat drawer and the carpet can still be tucked back in.

I replaced my carpet with the BedTred Kit from Bedbug. Worked great and it was easier and cleaner install with the front seats out. With any jeep noise I just turn up the stereo. But really did not notice a difference.
