Default Resetting to stock before dealer visit?

Most of us use programmers to correctly set at least tires/gears and maybe tune the engine. My question is - if I go to the dealer flashed back to stock with upgraded tires/gears won't they get all cranky whiny about my speedometer misalligned and invalidate my warranty altogether because of it? Sounds like damned if you do damned if you don't or am I wrong?

It is truly a no win situation. I havent' had to go to the dealer for service, but have been told to flash it back to stock AND drive it for about a day to show a driving history in the computer. If you take it right in and they check the computer, it would otherwise look like a new vehicle (that input is from Hypertech). I would think a computer void would be a fairly expensive risk - I would remove the programming.

This is a really good question.

I guess the best answer is to find a mod friendly dealer. I've only had to go there once since installing my Hypertech Max Energy. And when I did I drove there early. Hooked it up right there to return it to stock. Got my programming from the dealer and then reprogrammed it right there.

The only thing you need to make sure of is that your Hypertech has the latest code to minimize the chance that the dealer programming is too new and won't be recognized.
