Nope. 265's work great on stock wheels.

Are the guard dogs really that noisy? Or are they just as loud as the stock rubi tires?

I've never heard Rubi BFG KM's but Guard Dogs howl!

Alright guys, just ordered a set of 5 Warden A/T's, Load Range D, 285/70/R17, $767 delivered! . Requested them on GY MTR Kevlar or BFG KM2 carcasses, so hopefully they can make that happen. Hopefully they get here soon!

I'll report back in a few weeks on first impressions, ride quality, etc.

Just a follow-up: I got the tires mounted this last Sunday, and couldn't be happier with the way it rides/feels/looks. I got a tiny, tiny bit of additional clearance (in addition to the 3" of lift I put on a few weeks back). It really looks/feels like a real Jeep!

The Wardens are practically SILENT compared to the stock Rubi KM's I had on. I'm gonna try to find time to go wheeling this weekend, and will report back on how they performed!

When you requested the certain carcasses, was that with a phone order or did order online and leave a note in the comment box or something?

Thanks

Very interested in your results, tires are a small fortune. I've seen some tv shows on how the do the re-treads for industrial purposes such as tractors, caterpillar tires etc...seems like fine process.

I ordered online and put my request in the comment box. I said they must be a matched set of 5 sidewalls, and gave a list of 4 possible models, in order of priority. I put a note to halt the order and call me if they weren't able to get any of the sidewalls I listed.

It's been a few weeks, and I've got nothing bad to say about these. Commuting to work (combined highway/street) is good, and offroad grip is good too (didn't do anything crazy this weekend, but they did fine in the dirt and had good grip for climbing steep inclines). Overall, they're about what I expected. At ~$700, I'm very happy with the results.
