Default right idea?

Heys guys,

New to this forum. On my 2nd Jeep. I have a 08 unlimited Sahara 6 spd. I purchased a RC progressive 2.5 lift and am thinking of going with the 17 inch wheels and 35 12.50 tires. Does this sound like a good idea to everyone, and also I have read a few things about the spare mounting on the OEM stuff and still being able to see the 3rd brake light, some folks say it will some dont. Any pics and/or ideas on that? Thanks for all the help! RTR!!

I have the RC 2.5" with 33's and I have tons of room for flexing. Based on that and the RC instructions I believe you would be OK except at extreme articulation. If you do a lot of hard wheeling that may be a consideration, but it should look really good. My 33's almost look small on my JK.

It'll rub on articulation. I have wheel spacers and cut fenders on mine. no rub up front, minor on the rear. MPG won't care too much about the lift, it's the 35s that'll get cha. I can't say much for my mpg, i haven't calibrated my speedo still (5mph off or so)

Goody, from your experience with your lift how does it compare to the Terra Flex 2.5 coil?

Yep 35's are the way to go! With that RC lift you will have to trim your fenders and possibly your pinch seam if you do any offroading because when you flex you will rub for sure. I had a 35 on the spare tire carrier, and I would'nt reccommend it at all..the spare rattled badly and I have read so many horror stories on here about 35's waffling the tailgate..not worth the risk! My spare DID cover the brake light, but if you want you could always get a brake light extension. Good luck with your decision

It road pretty good after I lifted it, but the addition of my mud tires degraded the ride a little. It still rides better than any "classic" Jeep I've ever owned.
The MPG took a big hit. I was getting about 21 overall and now I'm getting about 16, but I did a pretty extreme regear at the same time so I may not be typical.
