Does this sound like a good idea to everyone, and also I have read a few things about the spare mounting on the OEM stuff and still being able to see the 3rd brake light, some folks say it will some dont. Any pics and/or ideas on that? Thanks for all the help! RTR!!
Do a search on mounting the 35" spare on the tailgate.

How well it will work depends on what secondary hardware you use and your driving habits.

The MPG took a big hit. I was getting about 21 overall and now I'm getting about 16, but I did a pretty extreme regear at the same time so I may not be typical.
With the gearing and tire size it outta be revving pretty high on the highway which is whats hurting the mileage. Just my opinion, but you're ready for some 37s! (gear wise)

^ I have personal experience in "waffling" the tailgate. Hit an incline too steep too fast and I'm still pounding out dents and reshaping sheet steel today, with many many coats of touch-up paint. If you're going to mount a 35" spare do it right with a steel bumper/carrier combo.
