right idea?
Heys guys,
New to this forum. On my 2nd Jeep. I have a 08 unlimited Sahara 6 spd. I purchased a RC progressive 2.5 lift and am thinking of going with the 17 inch wheels and 35 12.50 tires. Does this sound like a good idea to everyone, and also I have read a few things about the spare mounting on the OEM stuff and still being able to see the 3rd brake light, some folks say it will some dont. Any pics and/or ideas on that? Thanks for all the help! RTR!!

How well it will work depends on what secondary hardware you use and your driving habits.
It road pretty good after I lifted it, but the addition of my mud tires degraded the ride a little. It still rides better than any "classic" Jeep I've ever owned.
The MPG took a big hit. I was getting about 21 overall and now I'm getting about 16, but I did a pretty extreme regear at the same time so I may not be typical.

Thanks for all the help guys! Lovin the white Rubicon Goody...I do wish they came like that from the factory!

^ I have personal experience in "waffling" the tailgate. Hit an incline too steep too fast and I'm still pounding out dents and reshaping sheet steel today, with many many coats of touch-up paint. If you're going to mount a 35" spare do it right with a steel bumper/carrier combo.
