RIPP Supercharger Real World Owner Experience
Yes kyklt8 i did recalibrate it and checked it with my Garmin before i ever installed the s/c(and numeerous times since). Thanks for the input from those that actually have one installed & i guess i gave rest of you something to waste your time and mine bitching, or complaining about.

BINGO! i was lucky enough to ride in a 4dr equipped with a RIPP..its not a race car but that thing was chirpin' tires 1st thru 3rd..33' mickey T's to be exact..it was such a disapointment to get back in my jeep..i frowned the whole way home
OUTSIDE: I don't have my Ripps yet but it's a comin' . In preparation I dynoed the JK this week, with and without a Superchips tune. My JK with 35" tires is only putting out 120RWHP and 143FT-Lb's of torque on stock tune. My mileage went from 15 ave mpg with no lift and 33" Toyo's down to 12 mpg witg just a
3" lift. When I changed to 35" Goodyears mileage has actually gone up to 14 mpg driving the same circuit and pedal pressures in all situations. I will definately let you know what happens with the Ripp modified mileage figures. Oh and by the way (this is meant as a joke but the mpg's are true) when I went out to Colorado this fall I got 16 mpg going west and 20+ mpg coming home (east) with a stout tail wind (and more pressure on the skinny). Maybe Kansas tilts down to the east?
Ripps: you guys are the only company out there that makes a TRUE "turnkey" system that is touted to solve a number of performance and performance enhanced problems. I have found you to be very professional, and truthful when it comes to representing your system. And that is why I bought one.

Thanks Fathom let me know how it works out. Id say with the 35s you were getting right in line with what i did when driving on I-70 and yes the wind can make a big difference on our little loaves of bread when on the highway.
Here are my first impressions of the RIPP SC.
To preface I just put in 5:13's on a 2 door 6speed manual with 34" toyo open country mt's. I have a superchip and a full bumpers, winch, and armor.
Hills: My rig can take the hills now! Hills are where the ripp shines. Where I would have had to downshift and put on the gas, I can just keep steady. I feel like a normal driver now. the SOP dyno can feel the power!
City: Not much change. I do know I have power if I need to get her moving. with 34" tires and 5:13's I have alot of torque not speed. I am about to go to 37's and I am sure that will change the city experience.
Sound: I am going to check this with both the garage and my firend who had one of these before but its really whiney. There is a lot of noise coming out of the SC, but I dont know if that is normal.
MPG: Well this seems wrong but I went down (Ive only gone 75 miles on the RIPP) I am going to check this
4LO: I dont know yet. I am going wheeling on monday and will report back my experence.
ROI: I have dreaded long mountainous trips becuase I get embarassed about how slow I am up every hill. I think to myself If only you could see me on the trail, you would understnd. Now I can hold my head up high and even look forward to getting there. This is real power for getting there. The trail remains a mystery. I love rocks and cant wait to see what the ripp does there. Hi Ram, Yep the whining is normal. You'll hear an occasional pressure relief too. Think of the whining as telling everyone you have a SC. I bet there is still room to play to optimize your mileage. Not worth doing until the 37s are on. It is nice to be able to go up hills fast isn't it? LHR
i also regeared with 5:13 gears before the supercharger... i think it is better to get everything setup the best you can before the supercharger. then add the supercharger.. i think that gives you the best results
Offroad: Its AWESOME! I had power to spare on everything i tried.
I will report back in about a month about how I have adjusted to the sound and the MPG. I am going to get a tune on it and see how it improves. The sound annoys me right now but LeftHandRubi said he got used to it over time. I will probably as well.
