Default Rockrail suggestions

I am hopefully going to take ownership of my JK soon, and was wondering if you all had some suggestions as to a rockrail that could also act as a side step. Now, I like the PureJeep ones, but to tell you the truth, I am not a fam of the addition screws in the sides. I am actually looking for something that is simple bolt on and off, that would (hopefully) use the same bolt holes as the Rubi rockrails.

I appreciate any suggestions, I really have no idea what is out there, and looked a bit but couldn't find anything.

Thanks fellas.

Shrockworks rails seem pretty popular here and you should be able to find pics here and specifically the gallery.

check this link to shrockworks site:

thanks for the reply, I'll have to check them out. There's even a walk through on this site for the install. Doesn't look too difficult. But may have to hit up a friend to borrow some tools...lol

Any others?

it depends on which PureJeep one you are looking at... they have the side step type which you can get now that somewhat attach to the body. I'm still waiting for their true rail ones to ship... still not in yet and I like em better than the Shrockworks plus PJ has a rear bumper that is shipping and stocked! Shrockworks can't even get a design yet! ....but they do have quality products and are my second choice.

I have the Shrockworks myself and they were holding up just fine during my rock surfing excursion last weekend. I've looked at most of what ever else is out there and it all looks like it'll work great. The only ones that I would hesitate about are the Olympics. Their stuff just doesn't seem to match up to the rest. IMHO of course.

I installed Shrockworks in a couple hours by myself (I used the shipping box to support the rail against the bottom of the frame and body during the mounting). Do be aware that you'll have to do some drilling through some pretty hard frame metal to install them. They're worth the effort.

I don't think the frame is hard to drill through at all. Start with a 1/8 bit and then the 1/2. The key though is a good metal specific drill bit.

The Shrockworks set are really nice if you are looking for a set of frame mounted rails. If you are looking for a body mounted set, I really like the new PUREJEEP rails.

Good advice. Of course, I didn't say the metal was hard to drill through. I said the metal was hard. I thought it worth noting since OP implied that he didn't want to drill.

Cool, thanks for all the info guys. i appreciate it. Looks like I will have to start saving up for the Shrockworks ones. Seem to be the best for what I am looking for as a frame mounted vs. body mount.

Thanks again!.
