Not many companies market a "roll" cage. Even most of the weld in cages are marketed as "sport cages".

Last year I was about to pull the trigger on the rockhard when the Or-Fab came out. For me it was about esthetics. The rockhard looks like a bolt in from a mile away; to me the Or-Fab is just begging to be welded up. Also, the Or-Fab looks good with the front window down.

I liked the plate on the "steamer" bars of the rockhard and the rockhard makes a rear portion for the 2 door (Or-Fab does not). So I added a plate to the Or-Fab steamer and bought the rear portion of the RockHard.

I have the Or-Fab installed but rockhard rear portion has not been installed yet. The rockhard is made so you have to cut the plastic on the center console whereas the Or-Fab plate is bent so no cutting of the plastic is needed. I'm only home a few days a year and the rear was going to take more time than I wanted to dedicate to it.

There are many threads of sport vs. roll cage. They are legal terms....to say a roll cage is to say the company is claiming added safety for the occupant and would open itself up to liability suits. In short, the sport cages will help but will incur major damage during a roll over. Structurally both the sport cages you mentioned give about the same reinforcement so it comes down to looks.

I love the grab handles, it looks cool, and yes a lot better protection than stock.
