Default Roller/Fairlead Question

I am in the procedd of purchasing a winch/bumper combo.

I have a Black JK that I am trying to Black out as much as possible. Is there any reason that I couldn't use Duplicolor on the roller/fairlead to spray it black? Is there a black one out there that I could buy instead?

If you have done this, could you post a pic?

Thanks.

If you want to spend the money you can purchase black roller fairleads - do a search on "black roller fairlead". MileMarker makes one for $85-$100 and there are others. There are also some roller fairleads with rubber/plastic rollers if you are using synthetic line.

Is there any reason I could not use a fairlead meant for a syenthetic line for a standard steel line?

the wire cable will tend to dig more into the plastic coating where as the synthetic rope will not. personally I would just mask the area off around the fair leads and paint them black a can of Krylon vs. New rollers. however that is just my $.02 worth.

Take it apart, leave the rollers natural and paint the rest with some black engine paint, bake in oven for a few hours, put it back together and mount it to the bumper.

I've been planning on doing just that with mine and the Poison Spyder fairlead light mount, just haven't got around to it yet.
