Roof Rack
Has anyone seen this rack or have one. I am looking for a rack and this one allows you to tilt it back to remove tops. http://www.project-jk.com/wp-gallery...2_itemId=10712

It mounts to the sheet metal? C'mon, that can't be really solid... Landrunner looked like it had a better mounting, but I'm waiting to see what Garvin will come up with.

As you can see in the photos, the Garvin rack require you drill and mount to the sheet metal as well and in two separate locations, up high and down low. This is to allow their rack to tilt-back, although, I'm not 100% sure what happens to the license plate when it does.

Maybe add some AEV Corner Guards too...
Well, if the roof rack I want (probably the Garvin) mounts to the sheet metal, I'll probably add some AEV Corner Guards to re-inforce the rear mounting points.

I agree that a rack that requires drilling in the back just doesn't seem right. Of course I am sure the rack designers / MFGs have tried all options but it seems to me there must be a way to create a bracket around the bumper that bolts to existing bolt points - even if it angles out from between the body and the bumper. And for those with after market steel bumpers it seems like it is totally possible. I need to take a welding class!
