Default Rough Country

I am thinking about the Rough Country 4 inch lift with the Performance 2.2 series shock absorbers for my 2dr. I was wondering if anyone was running this or knew if it is a good lift kit. I was hoping to run 35s on this also? Suggestions or Comments? Thanks.

RC is a good brand and a lot of people rep them. you have a two door manual and you will actually be net and yget more then 4" of advertised height.

you will most likely have to adjust driveshafts.

you will also have to look into control arms with that much lift.

Look here:

Specifically,

Q: What are all the components that I will need with a 4" lift?
A: For a 4" lift, you should have a set of 4" coils, bump stop extensions, longer shocks, extended brake lines, longer sway bar links, adjustable front track bar, adjustable rear track bar, front and rear track bar relocation brackets, dropped pitman arm, adjustable upper and lower control arms front and rear and new double cardin u-joint style drive shafts.

I've been on the 4" RC lift for around 5K miles and have been happy with it so far. I'd opt for the one with adjustable control arms though to ensure you can get your caster and pinion angles right.

I actually just purchased a RK 2.5" lift though. Want to go with an LCG setup. Keep your eyes in the for sale section soon as I'll be getting rid of my RC lift.

I am running a different lift with RC 2.2s and switching over to Bilsteins. 2.2s are stiff.

  • rear brakeline relocation brackets,
  • longer rear swaybar links so you can move the stock ones to the front

You will not need all the other stuff.

A front adjustable trackbar ($144 for a JKS) would be nice, but not required.

Front lower control arms to adjust your caster alignment setting would be nice, but not required.

For those who don't have Rubicons, you want front swaybar disconnects.

The RC kits come with 2.2 shocks that are reported to be quite stiff on a 2 door, and they do not include extended bumpstops other than what is on the shocks.

So, you may need to supplement or mix and match their stuff via contacting the RC rep on this forum directly to get everything in the above list. He has a good reputation and can get you a discount to offset shipping costs.

The Teraflex 2.5" kits with shocks (either BB or coil lifts) come with everything you need, and as a result, cost more. You can get a discount if you contact northridge4x4 (David) on the phone.
Ok. Thanks.

One more thing, What is the difference between it coming with Shock Adaptors and it coming with shocks?

I'm getting Bushwacker Flat Fenders so ya, they'll fit...

When you're selling... I'm buying!
