I bought a 16 oz. bottle of Royal Purple's
Purple Ice coolant additive yesterday.
($14..99)
It's supposed to drop the coolant temp.
by 15-30 degrees.
I haven't seen any drop in the temp guage
yet?
Any comments or experience with this stuff?
Have I been snake oiled?

Temp. and oil pressure gauges in most modern vehicles are designed to read a certain optimal point if the "actual" reading stays within a given range. In other words, your temp or oil pressure can fluctuate a certain amount and the stock gauge will not show any difference (keeps unneccesary warranty service calls down). Change to a good aftermarket gauge and sending unit and you will see differences.

New cars are designed to run at a certain operating temp, your gas mileage has got to suck because your vehicle isn't getting up to nomal operating temp.
I seriously doudt that your additive made any difference.
