Default rubbing issues wth R.E. long arm

i have sahara 4 door wth 4.5in R.E. long arm suspension and 37x13.50x16 tires. my tires are rubbing slighty on the arms in the rear. anyone else have this problem wth this lift or know how to correct it. my tires may be a smudge too big or maybe not enough backspacing. im not sure. any info would be appreciated

I believe you MUST run a 4 inch or less backspacing. Or run spacers.
I have 12.5 inch tires and run 4.53 inch of BS. No rubbing issues.

edit. The 37" tall tire is not the problem, it would be in the width, (13.5) needing more back spacing.

i checked the specs on the rims, says 4.5 on the backspacing. i guess i'll just get some spacers. i was trying to stay away from spacers but looks like no choice except for new rims. thanks for the reply

I have seen this lift run on 4.5" backspacing rims on 35, 37, and 40 with no rubbing(except severe fender trimming needed on the 40's)

You shouldn't have to run spacers. I'd check to make sure its 4.5" BS and then make sure the lift was installed correctly.

I am trying to remember now how much backspacing my wheels have and I forget, something like 4" or something .... I do know though that when I went to put my stock wheels/tires back on, saving on gas, that I couldn't even turn the "effin" thing. It sounded like metal was being snapped apart.

Got 1.5" spacers .. got 4, using em now, after my mud tires are back on.

I am running 35x12.50s, I would say your tires might be too wide ... or just buy a whole new set of wheels ... it'd be the same I bet for 2 sets to a set of 4 wheels .. or about the same pretty darn close.

i took a look at the parts and starting to think something is loose or installed wrong. one side has 3/4 maybe 1 in. in between arm and tire, other side is less than 1/2 in space between tire and arm. normal driving is no rubbing, but offroad i know im rubbing. im going to take it back to my guy and check it out. as for running 37x12.5 tires, i would but already spent $$$$$ on these tires. i appreciate the replies and going to look into all that was offered. tahnks again guys

after hearing about backspacing, between the 13.5 wdth and backspacing, that might be whole prob, but will look into it all. probably just screw it and run spacers on rear

if its rubbing your control arm, it may be twisted .. but then when you think about it then your axle would be screwed too ...

I'd say take it in, since with these kits, they have to know what they're doing. My mech took about a week to install it, to make sure he did everything perfect (as close to as perfect). Its a lot of money to be toying with to just do a half azz job on installation ..

hope you figure it out!

If you have more space (measurement) on one side of the jeep (wheel to arm) than on the other side, then perhaps it is as simple as recentering your axle left to right. I looked up your kit, and it doesn't look like it comes with an adjustable trackbar in the rear. Looks like it has a relocation bracket. If your axle is off center, then an easier fix, and probably less expensive than the other suggestions posted, would be replace the rear trackbar relocation bracket with a rear adjustable trackbar so you can dial in the rear axle left/right. That will most likely cure, if not all, at least the majority of your problem.

now that is def an idea. someone on here wth the same lift recomended that when i got the lift. i will surely look into this. prob good to have an adjustable rear track bar anyways. thank you, i didnt even think of that one. i just may go ahead and get that and go from there if it still a problem. it makes complete sense
