Hey guys. Just joined the forums and I have a quick question.

Currently I have Grand Cherokee AEV pintlers on my jkur that have 5.75 Inches of backspacing(thanks jwilson) and a +25mm offset. I am upgrading to a 2.5 RK max travel kit, and I am planning on throwing 315/70/17 aka 34.4 x 12.4 x R17 duratracs on these wheels. I have heard that if you have over 4.75 inches of backspacing you will rub your rear control arm when flexing. People seem to run JK pintlers (BS 5.2 and offset +10mm according to the AEV website(is that correct?)) just fine. What am I missing here? Will it rub with the Grand Cherokee pintlers? I love the wheels and would like to keep the AEV style even if I have to go JK pintlers.

If you love the wheels and you get rubbing you can always do a quality wheel spacer

Just an FYI, when I researched this a few months ago, there was apparently a misprint and the WK/XK Pintlers you have actually have 5.75" backspacing and the JK ones have 5.2 as you mentioned.

Stock wheels have 6.25, so it will definitely be close. FWIW, I have no rub issues with the JK Pintlers and the 315 Duratracs on mine.

Do you go crawling or stuff the rear wheels very often? That's usually when it happens. I have also heard about the misprints, but I wasn't sure. Thanks.

You should expect some pretty good rub with a 5.75" bs wheel. If you like the wheels put some 1.5" wheel adapters on there and you will be fine.

I would prefer to avoid spacers.. would I have rubbing issues with the JK pintler at 5.2? I've heard the magic number is 4.75 and below for backspacing.

You would likely have rubbing issues with that size tire.
