I'm not sure about the added flex but for a cheap mod, some rubi shocks would make the jeep drive alot better. Maybe someone else will know more about the added flex. You might want to see if someone is trying to sell coils and shocks from a rubi

If you want a softer ride then the Rubi shocks are not going to be for you since they tend to make it ride stiffer. I am not sure about the flex, but I think they are the same length as the X / Sahara shocks.

Do you have the S package on your X? If so, look on your invoice and it should say "heavy duty Shocks", or "heavy duty suspension". That is the RUBI suspension. All you need to do is paint them red. They even have the same part numbers. I was going to do that, and right before I bought them off a guy, I saw a thread on here explaining that if you have the s package, then you have the RUBI shocks already. Not sure about the springs, but there are like 10 different part numbers for the springs depending on 2/4 door, hard/soft top, etc.

Same here, you are wasting your time and money if you get the rubi shocks. You will not notice a difference at all. This was one of the first things I did to my jeep and my wifes. The only difference in the shock is the color.

Why do they have the EXACT same part number on them as the Rubi then?

Dunno, ask Chrysler... X shocks gave in the same. If I pushed with Y pounds of force, they traveled Z distance. If I pushed with 2Y then they traveled 2Z. Rubi shocks pushed back. They traveled less distance than X with the same amount of force, but they disperse the load better. Much better. The more you push in the more they pushed back.
