Default Rubicon 44 locker question

Ok so I'm sure this has been asked but I could not find it. I bought a rubi 44 with factory locker and I want to instal it on my X it still has the plug on the top/back of diff. Can I just wire in a switch and it will work? Or do I need any thing else? Now of course I would run a relay and fuse just incase but before I start the whole process of swapping rears I wanted to make sure everything is ready. Any input would be great thanks.

You should be able to throw a relayed switch in. I know a lot of guys that bypass the ECM and can lock either front or back in 4-hi or even 2-hi. I have a traildash so I didn't have to ground out the circuit.

Thanks, I thought so but I had to ask just incase someone has tried the same way and something has failed in the process I would hate to get it all back together just to rip it all out again.

Set up a switch and relay before you install it. It would be easy enough with a battery. With the differential cover off you can see if it engages, no need to turn the gears.

This might help. Do a google search for Jeep JK locker bypass and you'll find lots of info and diagrams.
