Default Rubicon Express 2" Lift

After much debate and research, I've made my choice. I'm going with the Rubicon Express BB with an added leveling spacer if needed (.5 inch I think).

I haven't seen too many JKers running this lift. Is there a reason? There were two deciding factors that put Rubicon over the top: 1st, it was highly recommended by the highly regarded 4wheelers Supply shop here in phoenix; 2nd, I figure if Mopar is going with RE on the OEM lift, they must think pretty highly of RE themselves.

Any thoughts out there? What is the general reputation among JKers with regard to RE?

there are quite a few people who uses this kit, myself included. I got the one with the monotube shocks since it's made by bilstein. I chose this BB because it pretty much levels your jeep with 2.5" puck up front, and 1.75" rear.

It rides great, and i'm very happy with it. In the future, i'm planning to go all coil by just replacing the puck with Rusty's 2" coil and use the RE shocks....but that's far in the future

Have fun installing it....I know i did

bim6180 do you have pics with this setup? I am putting together the funds and I am trying to decide on the monotube or twintube. I know one is a nitrogen shock and was made by Bilstien for RE, but is it worth the extra 120.00?

Can I ask what they quoted you? I went to 4 wheelers supply myself. They quoted me $350 plus 150 install. Is that what they told you also?

No need for a leveling spacer with stock bumpers, the RE kit levels you out nicely. I have the twin tube shocks and it handles ands rides like stock. I ran 35's with only minor rubbing with this kit and that was moderate trails and deep mudding. I also added a M.O.R.E. 1 in body lift that totally got rid of any rub . Here's a pic of the RE kit and a 1 in BL

$150 is about right for the install, but if you have the time and the tools.......

Question

If I wanted to run a 285/70/17 (33") tire on the stock rims with this lift do you think I would have any rubbing?

Nice MKJeep! I can't wait to get it done. Thanks for the advice about leveling. That was the only question I had going in...

Theosdad, that's EXACTLY what they quoted me. After tax it will be $529. I debated doing it myself on Saturday. Instead they'll work on it Friday and I'll have time to install my winch mount and winch on Saturday.

I'm glad to hear that they are consistent on the price quotes. Tells me alot about the honesty... I've been to other shops around town and had a few fast ones attempted...

I purchased their kit based on their reputation and rave reviews regarding their shocks. I have had no issues to date and would not hesitate to recommend them.

I was disappointed to find out that the Mono shocks were not 4dr specific, but they made a huge difference in the ride quality vs the shock shocks. (I had to run the stock shocks with the lift for 2 weeks since the mail-order shop screwed up my order, then took a week off to go to Moab, and finally sent me the Mono's I ordered, but that is another story)

As others have stated it levels out the JK nicely with stock bumpers. Once I added the Shrock front and winch it dropped an additional inch or so. Stacking spacers would help, but a HD coil would be a better fix.
