Question

I agree. They did some work on my 86 CJ and they did a great job. I was just wondering the major difference between the twin tube and mono tube shocks.
I also want to go slightlyn larger than stock tires (285/70/17). Not sure if I could get away with that and stock rims?

I paid $100 for my install and watched even helped because I wanted to know how to correctly do it myself, If you have a set of metric and standard tools, good floor jack and acouple of jack stands it'll be easy. If not you could spend the $150 and be done with it, but if your planning on future mods , get the tools and do it yourself. ( good highlift foor jack =$100 set of tools $100-$200 or

Question

I am definitely thinking of doing it myself. I dont have a torque wrench. Will I need one for the install?

I had 255x75rx 17 and they didn't rub if that's any help. The width with the 285x70X17 should be okay without wheelspacers , but it sure would make it look better

I know lots of people say it looks better. I am sure it would. My concern lies in the safety and wear on the axles with the spacers. I also dont want the tires too far ou where every rock would destroy the side of the jeep.

It's good to have a torque wrench, if you already have the other tools but in my opinion for this lift it isn't a necessity, but if you wanna go by the book you should go ahead and get one. you'll probably like it once you get it and be checking everything like I do.

Yeah, I'm keeping the stock bumper (for some reason I like it...) but I am adding a winch mount and winch. I expect to lose a half inch or so which is why I'm considering the leveling spacer. I'ts going to be a game time decision...

I don't know about rocks , I'm in south Louisiana, but I've had the Spidertrax on for about 10,000 miles and they have been great

Default 285x16 tires

I'm running 285's in the MTR vareity on stock rims, no lift, VERY slight rub on the sway bar at full lock, Not a concern at all.

So with this BB you're going to be just fine.

I like mine just fine, but it settled out and didnt level it out as much as i had hoped.

I will end up swapping it out for a larger lift at some point.before & After
