Not to too bad with the coupon and considering the kevlar sidewall. Would probably make them handle well on the street also.

The online reviews came back mostly good.

Tirerack doesn't have any of there testing scales on this brand yet it seems, like they did on the duratrac.

Bummer

It was between these and the KM2s. Its the Kevlar and the fact that other members of the forum felt they were quieter that sold me. They were a little more expensive but i luv-em.

12.5" wide tires stink in the snow (relatively)!!! Keep that in mind if you live up North.

The Rubicon model was built to be lifted 2-3 inches with 35" tires. It is by far a nicer driving and riding jeep then before. Hope this helps.
Not to Hijack the thread but you find the OME HD ride better than stock? Or is do you think it is attributed to the additional sidewall of the 35's?

Thanks.

I put the lift on 15,000 miles before the 35s so I deffinatly think the OME HD improves the ride. The tires did little by comparison. IMO.

I also upgraded to KM2, 33" on my Rubi rims w/Spidertrax spacers. I like more sidewall, less rim. I think the KM2 noise level is equal to or less than the KM. As stated before, the 18" rim tire sizes are always going to run more, and as you have noticed, the selection is pretty slim in some brands.

Great, thanks for the info! I want a bit of a lift but don't want to loose my teeth from the ride as a result!

Also it seems the 18 wheel weighs the same as the 17 but yeah the 18 tires weigh a bunch more.

Still considering what sorta 33-34" on an 18 would run comparable to the OEM BFG KM

No comments on the duratrac, no love for them here?
if you are that worried about sidehilling and airing down i would put more focus on a beadlock than a 18 in rim. also the narrower the rim the better without a beadlock. narrow rim width will account for way more than rim height. after two sets of tires you could have paid for a nice set of beadlocks instead of more expensive 18 in tires (not to mention the lack of tire choices in 18). for me it is about function as well as looks. i went 17 in beadlock and will run a 37 (right now i have 35's). its your jeep so do what you want though. just my 2 cents worth.

the duratrac's are great tires. scooter scott ran them and they were awsome in the ice and snow sections. he also said they are great all around. he is however moving up in tire size and has decided to go with different tires now. km2's or mtr's i belive is his choices so that may tell you something. i don't think they look as good or will preform as well as a km2 in anything but ice after wheeling with him. good luck
