Default Rubicrawler

Just wanted to get some feedback. What do you guys think of the Rubicrawler. I wanted to order one for me Unlimited x because in first gear low range is just not low enough. They say it will half my current low range gearing. Any feedback would be great, it's less than half the price of a Atlas 4 speed.

Thanks.

Hmmm, wouldn't swapping in a Rubicon xfer case be less expensive?

I like the idea of the Rubicrawler, a great bit of engineering.

Yeah, but it's only $1600 for the Rubicrawler. It would cost a lot more for a transfer case and I get a 7.40:1 ratio in low with the Rubicrawler which is pretty good.

$1600 just seems a bit high to me...

Everyones waiting for you to tell them. It just became available. If it were available when I got my 4 speed, I'd have ordered it.

You really think you need 7:1 gear reduction?

Guys get all hung up on uber-low t-case ratios when the standard 3:1 ratio on the X is more than enough for normal descent and rock crawling work.

You can get salvage Rubicon t-cases for well under a grand, a superior choice given the two options you're contemplating.

Subscribed! Definitely post up your opinion when you get it installed. This is definitely alot cheaper than the true Atlas 4-speed.

If he's running bigger tires it'll help alot, especially cause he has a higher gear ratio. My only concern is the amount of torque it will generate on those axles. Either way it'll be a nice upgrade in a possible long string of them.

So you spend the $1,600 and THEN ask people for feedback?
