Default Ruby 44 hi steer

Anyone converted their 44 to hi steer. I have the teraflex offset tre's on the drag link and tie rod (rod and link are .250 wall 1.25 od). It almost looks like I could flip both the link and rod and run them off the top of the knuckles. Anyone done this or swapped out the knuckles to something else? (i.e. chevy knuckles to run flat tops). I've seen kits to flip the drag link but nothing for the tie rod.

You can do the draglink but unless there is a new adapter out there you will still have clearance problems with the tie rod/centerlink.
Here's mine and a pic showing how tight it would be on room.

I hear ya. I run these

already and it looks as if it just might clear the upper drag link knuckle mount. Just figured I'd ask before I start messing around with mine just in case someone has already done this.

Won't that put your steering stablizer back into a vulnerable position? Seems like it would then have to go back behind the centerlink instead of on top of it??

Shouldn't be a prob with hydro assist. There won't be anything below the tie rod

ORO had a tie rod upgrade kit that moved the tie rod up 1" with some new bolt-on bracket. But the tie rod still mounted under the bracket. Really its a waste of money unless they figure out a way to mount the tie rod on top and gain a few more inches. Maybe it can be adapted. At least it moves the tie rod further out, giving more clearance from the drag link. Using these bracket with the offset TRE might work. and you could raise the Tie Rod 3".

I don't think the Off Road Only tie rod is a waste of money. I does move the tie rod up about 1" and forward to help clear the draglink. I really like the way they move the stabilizer way up. One other advantage is the new tie rod is straight with no bends and it is a piece of cake to adjust the toe plus it is beefy.

I agree that if they could get the right tie rod ends then the tie rod could be mounted on top and that would give awesome clearance. I have the ORO setup and have beat the hell out of it and it works great..

Agreed, my choice of words wasn't appropriate. The ORO does have several good features as you mention. From a hi-steer point of view though, $425 is pretty steep for just 1". Plus you have to add $119 for the steering stabilizer relocation kit. Not cheap!

If ORO could figure out how to mount the Tie Rod on top, I'm sure they would sell a lot more of these kits. There is nothing else out there.
