Got my kit, put the mirror brackets on and mirrors, everything fine, then I try to install the door plugs and find that there are no bolt in the kit, and the old bolts do not fit the new plugs. Call Quadratec and am informed that the kit they sent me was the old style, and they have no idea what size the bolts are I need , but they will reimburse me for any I have to purchase.
No the problem, I have taken the plugs to a local bolt and nut supplier, and they said it looks like a 8MM fine thread. They had none in stock, and now I am not sure what the hell I need.
Anyone out there encountered this issue...

 

Go to Home Depot, they have plenty of the bolts...And I do beleive they are 8mm bolts. Any of the auto stores will have them also...

 

I bulit up some half doors out of the Mopar parts a while back. I was originally "thinking" that it would be good to have a couple of sets of mirrors so I got a set when I built the doors. That turned out to be a dumb plan and I subsequently ended up getting a couple of sets of rugged ridge door relocation brackets (you can't buy the plugs for the holes in the door which are left by the mirrors separately).

So I fitted the plugs into the full original doors using the original mirror bolts (07) but when I went to do the same with the new mirrors then I found the bolts weren't what I needed (for a start they were ugly brass covered ones and they didn't fit the plugs). The second set of mirrors was (I'm guessing) 08 so it may be there was a change in the bolts or something.

What color are everyones mirror bolts (black or something else)

At the time I figured it was just a problem with the part (mirror and bolts) that was supplied to me but your post had me wondering.

I was planning on getting some replacement bolts at some point but haven't gotten around to it yet. I looked in Lowes and Home depot etc (also Kragen) but couldn't find anything that looked like the original pretty bolts that I got with my 07 so was thinking about checking out the stealership. If you try and buy a bolt from them you pretty soon find out why they call it a stealership
