Default Running 35' with 3:73's

Just wondering If anyone is running 35's with 3:73 and a 6 speed in a JKU? Does it work for a DD and moderate trails?

i have been running 35s with 3.21 and a 6 speed for more than a year. Superchips really helped. So, yes you can do it with no problem, except that you will lose your 6th gear.

I'm running 35's with 3.73's with a JKU and an automatic (not a 6-speed) and it does fine as a DD. Initially it was a bit gutless, but I'm running a Superchip programmer and that helped quite a bit. Don't expect top-fuel results from a Superchip though or you'll be disappointed. You will need something to recalibrate your speedo once you go up in tire size. The Superchip will accomplish that as well.

Hook-Em. Just curious what was your gas mileage before and after the superchips? Superchips is not coming out with a programmer for the 2011 till Januray 2012 and really want 35s.

I'm gonna give you what the computer says. The computer is about a 0.2 higher than any of my hand calculations. I've only done hand calculations a few times as sanity checks. Before my programmer I was reporting 12-13, DD. With the programmer I consistently see 15-16, DD. I never took a trip without the programmer. With the programmer I've gotten 19-22 on trips.

Hope this helps!

Hi Guys,
I am new here. I just got a new 2011 Sahara Unlimited and the dealer pointed me to a shop in town who does their lifts. I talked with the guy this morning and he quoted me $4K for a 3" Tereflex lift and wheels and tires. I asked him whats all included and he said shocks, springs, front swaybar shock, and some 6-way adjustable component. Does this sound about right?

Anyway, I wanted to ask about the superchip. What it is and how is it installed and how much will it cost.

Thanks guys.

Manageable with a stick, worthless configuration with auto. Superchips will help, but so will doing it the right way and regearing.

$4k for a 3" lift, tires and wheels. Does that include the Vaseline? I did my 4" lift, tires, and wheels for $2800 myself along with a buddy. If you have any friends in your area that have Jeeps, see if they can help and do it yourself. Host an installation party and by them pizza and beer. It's a great way to meet fellow Jeepers in your area and learn a lot about your Jeep. Check on the forum for the Discount Tire Direct rep. He'll set you up with a good deal on tires and wheels that can be installed at a Discount Tire store.

As for the Superchip, you don't install it. You plug it into your ODB-II port and reprogram your ECM with it. The programmer saves your stock ECM program internally and allows you to return it to stock whenever you want to.

Hope this helps. PM me if you have anymore detailed questions. I'll be glad to help you out.

All depends on which lift kit, tires, and rims you are getting. Give us some more details and we can give you a better opinion.
