Do JKU's normally run at or above 200 degrees? I have a 2014 JKUR with 2.5 teraflex spring lift and 35's.

People have reported the 3.6L engine running as hot as 230°F.
It doesn't seem to be a problem, but, I'm glad my 3.8L JK hovers around thermostat temperature (195°F) all the time.

Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to find out if anyone has changed out their radiator for a larger one. I have had it to 230 degrees just driving uphill on the freeway which seems excessive.

I'm 220-230 on a regular basis in Texas. Yes, changing to a larger rad like a Mishimoto helps keep it cooler, by about 10% from what I've seen. They are not without their own issues, and yes, they will set your wallet back quite a bit compared to factory. I'd leave it as is for now, that's completely normal.

Order the superchips and change your fan settings- "problem" solved.

First step should actually be make sure your radiator is unobstructed, clean, and has the proper fluid. Then look into the tuners that can adjust fan settings that Chrysler designed the motor to work around.

My 2017 runs right at 203*F under normal circumstances. If I am in a slow moving traffic jam on the highway or driving in downtown Columbus it's gotten up to 216*F. Once while wheeling it got up to 234*F an I freaked out but the guys I was with said JKs are fine up to 245-250*F

Thank you, it helps knowing that what I'm experiencing is a normal operation. It just seems crazy that this is the "new normal" when everything I grew up driving was around 170-185 degrees. Thanks again.

Mine runs that hot. Keep in mind I have a huge winch obstructing my radiator....

I wouldn't worry about it until the needle starts to really pass the halfway point on the temp gauge. My dash will read between 200 and 230 if I'm sitting in DC traffic or wheeling in the woods.

Just accidentally wandered in to the Gallery and saw pic of said winch.....LOL, yes, you have a lot of blockage going on there! I'm kinda the same way....stinger, winch (although not as high) don't create ideal airflow to the rad. 100*+ Texas temps don't help.
