Default Rust Proofing or Undercoating or ....?????

Whats the better solution here?

Iam liking the undercoating because of the black clean color of the underbody, but rust proofing seems to work better, but is messy.

Has anyone tried Line X as an under body coating?

I did the liquid rust proofing and added the anti rust electronic module... Then I unscrewed and greased any visible bolts (hood, windshield and doors)... A friend of mine does the application for a living and advised that the undercoat tends to flake and really does nothing for door seams and the high vulnerability points not on the undercarriage...

curious, how does the 'anti-rust electronic module' work? sounds like a cool idea

In "theory" the modules are based on "cathodic protection" which is used on boats and bridges and such... I can't say I believe in them all that much, but it couldn't hurt to have it as an addition to traditional rust proofing. It was a gift so I don't mind having it, but I wouldn't rely on it as your only standalone rust protection. $300 for something unproven is kind of steep...

Coming from the South East (GA), I've never gave rust much thought. A good pressure washer and I was good to go. After my job relocated me here to NE Indiana, rust is a huge issue. I keep a pressure washer hooked up in my garage and give it a good bath after driving on the roads. Every spring I wire brush and spray my axles, frame and any other spot I see w Rustolium Flat Black. It looks great and factory when I'm done. I will admit it's a pain in the ass and would like a more permanant solution. A better solution would be to move back to GA. I have no idea why anyone would live here by choice. Flat, cold, and not many places to wheel.
