If I am reading this thread correctly...Rusty's coils are able to fully compress w/o damage, and therefore bumpstop extensions are not required....but, I did see a mention of a question regarding extended brake lines relative to this, and I can't figure out why the compression limiting bumpstops would require any changes to the brake line lengths, as droop, rather than compression, is typically the issue on line lengths, etc.

As most bumpstop extensions are actually to prevent damage from larger TIRES, not over compression of coils, esp. for short lifts such as a BB, I wonder if ANY of the BB coils need bumpstop extensions, or if they are included based upon the ASSUMPTION that you will be mounting tires large enough to hit on compression.

I guess we'd need a bucket to bucket measurement at full compression for the suspension, and then a fully compressed coil length for any coil under consideration.

It's not so much the coil compression you need to worry about as it is tire rub. I know I needed them for my 35's. You may not need them for 33s.

How good are the Rusty lifts. I was thinking about getting the 3.25 Lift on my jeep but wasn't sure about quality.

i was curious on the quality as well... i have been trying to find a 2-2.5 in coil lift for a decent price and this looks likr the one.

for those of you who have them, i have a couple questions...

1. How many miles do you have on them

2. How much did it settle, if any, with the amount of miles you put on it?

3. Would a poly lift on top of the spacers be possible for another inch or so without to much fuss?

thanks

Matt

Thank you to all who replied to my questions. It has the coils (not spacers) and it seems to be good quality.

I used the search button and found that the coils are the same as the Rubicon Express coils. The manufacturer makes them for both Rusty and RE.

The shocks ride as good if not better then stock and they are highly affordable.

The only other kit that compares is the OME 2" lift. It cost 700 dollars compared to the 400 dollar shipped price tag of the Rustys lift.

Rustys has a good rep, some bad, but everyone has one time or another had bad customer/seller relationships.

For the Basic coil and shocks, you cant go wrong here.

Another good lift is the superlift 4inch kit. Just make sure you buy a rear trackbar with it. i hear the relocation bracket can cause problems.

1) About 7,000 miles on the Rusty's lift

2) Mine has not settled too much. I haven't noticed any difference in height.

3) I have the .75" spacers on top of the front coils to level it out. No problems. I have a grille guard and metal bumper, so I needed a bit more height in the front.

Default rustys 2"

So with the Rustys 2" coil and shock basic lift would i need to do anything to my brake lines, or would i need to make any other adjustments for that matter? could i simply order the kit, install it, and go?

Nope, springs, shocks and a steering adjustment and you are on the road!
