Safety of wheel spacers

I had 1.5" Spidertrax spacers for 3 years. I put 40K miles on my jeep and multiple long trip (Colorado to Texas, Virginia, etc.) with no issues. When installed properly (remove the clips, use red Locktite, etc.) they're perfectly safe.
