Default Security for Winch

i have a Mopar Front winch bumper with a Warn 9.5ti....i sometimes leave my jeep in a parking lot for 8 to 10 hours carpooling to work...because i spent more than $1000 bucks for a winch this time ive started thinking of a way to secure it...my best idea i have so far is a front skid plate to cover the 4 bolts on the bottom which would slow a thief down or sway him for jacking with it.....ideas and/or pics of what you have done or thought of? iwant to steer clear of welding or tacking a plate over the screws...thx for the ideas and help in advance

No Winch on the JK yet. However my TJ has 1/4 longer bolts with a tack weld to block the nuts from coming off. Many new bumpers need to be removed to get to the winch, make sure if this is the case you secure your bumper too.

Mine just dropped right in from the top and 4 bolts and 2 wires...seems too easy to steal

I'm planning on using this too. If someone really wants the winch...or the JK for that matter, it's gone. However, this bolt lock should at least show "them" that it's locked down.

I suggest tacking the bumper bolts as well.

I guess if you do this you would need a welder to remove winch or bumper

If you just tack the winch, they'll take it all!(personal experience)

I would tack the bolts that hold the winch AND the bumper to the JK frame. Here in sunny Shreveport, we have our fair share of thieves and my bumper AND winch will both be tacked to the JK. Stealing either or both will require a grinder or a torch and a LOT of noise and time...hopefully enough for me to get to the offending low-life thieves with a "deterrent" of sorts.
