how do you remove the 4x4 shifter? I got the auto shifter off but can't get the 4x4.

This is the truth. You have to pull straight up on the handle. You might get the feeling your going to break it, but that still isn't hard enough pull harder. It will than come off. I think this design could get changed and use a hex screw like the auto shifter.
